Cliffside Inscription of “Yi Wo Qian Gu”
The inscription here was originally written by Wang Xiu, a famous scholar of the Southern Song dynasty. It is 2.73 meters wide and 0.74 meters high, with an area of 2.2 square meters. Each of the four Chinese characters is 0.65 meters across. The four characters “Yi Wo Qian Gu”, meaning “the everlasting peaceful sleep” of the Buddha, written in regular script, are carved in intaglio. With each stroke looking so forceful and impressive, they have attracted numerous tourists to linger around and express their admiration.
