Foreword
To throughly implement the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, fully enhance the distinctive brand of 'Hometown of Chinese Children's Painting' in Hechuan, solidly promote public education activities of children's painting in Hechuan, and inspire children's enthusiasm for creation in art and calligraphy, the 36th "Rural Commercial Bank Cup" Children's Calligraphy and Painting On-site Competition in Hechuan District, Chongqing, hosted by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Hechuan District Committee of Chongqing, the Hechuan District Education Committee of Chongqing, the Hechuan District Committee of Culture and Tourism Development of Chongqing, and the Chongqing Rural Commercial Bank Hechuan Branch, and undertaken by the Hechuan Art Museum, Hechuan Cultural Center, Hechuan Library, and Hechuan Children's Painting Society, was successfully held at the Hechuan Art Museum on May 12th.
The "Rural Commercial Bank Cup" Children's Calligraphy and Painting On-site Competition has been held continuously for 36 years since 1984, and it has become one of the most influential large-scale mass cultural activities in the district and Chongqing. This year's event attracted over 2,200 participants from primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, and social art education institutions. Due to the large number of participants, venue constraints, and weather considerations, a combination of "centralized competition" and "decentralized competition" was adopted. Specifically, participants from the three streets of Heyang, Diaoyucheng, and Nanjin were gathered at the Hechuan Art Museum for the on-site competition, while the remaining offices, towns, and units conducted their competitions simultaneously at their respective locations. The on-site competition serves as an important platform for children to create outstanding works of art. A total of 2,208 entries were received, and after careful evaluation by a panel of judges, 661 works of the first, second, and third prizes were selected, along with corresponding instructor awards and 21 outstanding organization awards for participating units.
Hechuan and children's painting, children's painting and Hechuan are intricately linked. Children's painting nourishes the soul, plants the seeds of art, beautifies life, and promotes exchange. Hechuan children's painting has become one of the important vehicles for promoting and showcasing Hechuan. Due to venue limitations, only 309 works of the first and second prizes will be exhibited offline at the exhibition, while the remaining award-winning works will be showcased on online platforms.
