Zhongyici Temple


    Originally known as “Wang Zhang Ci”. Memorial Temple of Wang and Zhang, it was built in1494 during the Ming Dynasty in memory of Wang Jian and Zhang Jue, generals of the troops defending the Diaoyucheng City.It was destroyed in war at the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty.And it was rebuilt in 1759,renamed as “Zhong Yi Ci”(Memorial Temple of Loyatly and Brotherhood)to commemorate Yu Jie, Wang Jian,Zhang Jue,Ran Jin and Ran Pu. In 1766 more images of people were put into to the temple for commemoration Wang Li, Mrs xiong, Er  lead the way and the temple got another name going towards (Temple of good virtue)in 1881. The temple was again rebuilt with removing the statues of Wang Li, Li Dehui and Mrs. xiong Er to another place, and was restored of its former name ,Zhong Yi Ci the temple was  arranged in the way it was in 1881. with ancient banyan trees in the courtyard . The temple looks imposing with air of ancient simplicity.
